Welcome To Tiina Jori Ko Ba!

The Heart Behind the Matter

Tiina Jori Ko Ba [Teen-ah Jore-ee Koh Ba] is a Kasem phrase that means “Hope Has Come Back.” The Kasena people who speak the Kasem language are one of many people groups who reside in the Upper East Region in Ghana, West Africa. We have named this Non-profit Organization “Hope Has Come Back” because we desire to be one avenue to facilitate a sense of hope returning to a people who have long felt the pang of poverty and oppression in Ghana, West Africa. Northern Ghana has long been seen as the “dark” and “impoverished” under-belly of Ghana. Many people have attached fear and mysticism to the people of the north. For generations men, women, boys, and girls in northern Ghana have been negatively type-cast in a story to which they have had no input.

The bravery and strength, compassion and dedication of many is often not spoken of when history is shared about the north. The men and women who fought back slavers coming to take their brothers and sisters to slavery with fur and horned masks, those who have thrived and survived with sub-par municiple environments as compared with other parts of Ghana, and those who have continually been over-looked by government entities who have been concerned with those who seemingly had more rescources; at Tiina Jori Ko Ba these men and women are our heros and we seek to serve them whole heartedly.

We are concerned with creating better health care networks, educational structures and job opportunities for those residing in the Upper East Region in Ghana, and we are doggedly and unashamedly fighting for the sake of those who need it most within the Upper East Region.

Welcome to Tiina Jori Ko Ba. We are glad you are considering learning more about our organization, and we look forward to having you join us.

Sincerely,
